One of the first events is the AFRIMA Music Village, a non-stop concert. Venue is the Waterfront, Bar beach, Lagos. The concert will feature over forty artists from across the continent.

The awards proper will take place on 6 November at the Convention Centre of the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. It will be hosted by Bonang Matheba (South Africa), Ahmed Soultan (Morocco), and Ika Jang (Congo).

The hosts were chosen to reflect languages spoken across the continent (English, Arabic, and French). The red carpet for the event will be hosted by Denrele Edun, Hauwa Allahbura, Denola Grey, and Pam Happi.

Along with the award presentation, the ceremony will feature musical tributes in honour of Manu Dibango, King Sunny Ade and the late Papa Wemba.

Speaking about the tributes, Mr. Mike Dada, President and Executive Producer, AFRIMA, said, “Contemporary African stars will be pledging their loyalty to these grassroot legends of African music to show the beauty of their music through outstanding performances on stage during the AFRIMA awards. It is also a means of showing the younger generation that they can connect to music made by older generations of artistes and use this to unite the world through music.”

The tributes will be performed by Kiss Daniel (Nigeria), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Brymo (Nigeria), Wax Dey (Cameroon), Seyi Shay (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Aramide (Nigeria), Niniola (Nigeria), YCee (Nigeria), Tjan (Nigeria) and Flavour (Nigeria).

A business roundtable hosted by AFRIMA will take place by 9am on Saturday 5 November at the Grand Ballroom of the Eko Hotel and Suites. Its theme is 'Economic Power of Music for a New Africa.' Tickets for the events and other detials are available at the AFRIMA website.
