Adams Mission Multi-Art Centre and Music Academy

The Adams Mission Multi-Art Centre is a music academy that traces its history back to the likes the Virginia Jubilee Choir and Reuben T Caluza. The centre is situated at the old Jubilee Centre in Adams College, first opened in 1835, at Adams Mission in Amanzimtoti Reserve.

Renovated and relaunched in 2013, the centre consists of exhibition spaces, workshop and studio spaces, a 200-seat performance studio, residency apartment for artists, sculpture garden, African herbal garden, sound recording studio, video editing suites, amphitheatre and traditional café. The core focus of the centre is to develop and deliver innovative high quality contemporary arts programmes that maximise opportunities and avenues for communities to engage with contemporary, multi-arts practice. The Centre’s program encompasses all forms of the visual, performing, literary and new media arts.
