Asayehegn Alemu

Singer, songwriter Asayehegn Alemu a.k.a. Ayu joined the Ethiopian music scene after graduating college from Haromaya University. He played with roots and culture, classic, Afro-sound, express bands and more for years and moved to the U.S.

He has collaborated with one of the country's critically acclaimed Ethiopian songwriter, producer and bass player Yohannes Tona. Tona co- wrote, executive produced (with Yisakal Entertainment) and released his debut album in 2014 in Ethiopia. The album, considered as one of the best albums released this year was nominated in best album and best new artist catagories on Leza Music Awards
