BAT Centre

The Bartel Arts Trust (BAT) Centre is an urban-based community art centre that is a venue and facility for skills training, promotion and exposure of disadvantaged and emergent artists. The BAT Centre is home to the Afriportico Jazz Lounge and hosts ‘Jazz on the Deck’ every Friday from 5.30 pm and Saturdays from 8.30 pm. Local musicians set the vibe for the weekend. Sit back and enjoy some of the hottest jazz sounds on the picturesque Durban harbour. Funky's Restaurant and Bar combines local cuisine and music in a unique blend of entertainment. Catch live bands at the venue Thursdays through to Sundays. Bands range from jazz and rock to R&B and reggae. There is a nominal cover charge.
