British Council Malawi

British Council is an arts and cultural organization with branches all over the world. Its purpose is to establish relationships with artistic partners globally to provide exciting projects such as theatre, dance, visual arts and design. It aims to encourage the UK’s diverse culture, creativity and innovation overseas.

They work across the art forms from electronica to jazz, traditional to folk and classical to indie. They work with all genres of music. The institution has a music team which has its own weekly radio show called The Selector. The music show features music from the UK.

It promotes the best of the UK’s performing arts sector through a range of activities and events. Some activities include tours of new productions, workshops and residencies, seminars and conferences, showcases and UK study visits for overseas practitioners.
