Jaco Jana

Jaco Jana is an acoustic musician from Malawi. He grew up in Lunzu a place in Blantyre. Many have likened his music to that of Namoko. This was after the release of ‘Waiting for Someday’ single. He defines his music as falling under the world music. His music touches on the struggles of everyday people and how they keep on waiting for a better day. His two singles, ‘Maso Patsogolo’ and ‘Tiye Kwathu’ were well-receieved.

In 2013, he entertained patrons during the opening of the Shaking World Arts exhibition in Lilongwe with some live music. In 2014, he released his debut album 'I Will Shine'. In January 2015, he and other two artists namely Bridget Shumba and Sanderson Mphapo, left the country for Norway as part of a Music Crossro exchange programme.
