Listen to Africa

The Listen to Africa expedition is a two year journey on a bicycle to record some of the sounds of Africa; these include oral histories and music to soundscapes and wildlife. Throughout the 24,000 kilometre expedition, Listen to Africa is recording sounds and voices from across Africa - from people and music to wildlife and soundscapes.

The team of the expedition have no fixed ideas about the subject matter, but definitely reflect the team’s interest in human rights and humanitarian welfare, wildlife and environmental protection, music and citizen journalism.

The Listen to Africa team consists of Huw Williams, a 42-year-old British agriculturalist, traditional songwriter, entomologist, human rights and environmental activist; and Rebecca Sumner, a 35-year-old writer and web editor.
