Bio

The Museum of Musical Instruments was established in 1945. Zdzislaw Szulc is the co-founder and first curator of the museum. The majority of music instrument collection comes from his personal collection. The collection is made of over 2 000 items from all parts of the world. Its permanent exhibition consists of stringed instruments, a collection of pianos, wooden and brass instruments.

Its exhibition is divided into sections, including a room of music boxes and gramophones, piano, organ rooms, horns, winds, percussion instruments, guitars and string instruments. The museum also has a floor of folk instruments from different ages and cultures and a large exhibit of African drums.

The museum is open to members of the public from Tuesday to Thursday at 09h00am until 15h00pm, Friday at 12h00pm until 21h00pm and at 11h00am until 18h00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
