Bio

Based in Gangwon-do Province, South Korea, Museum of Musical Instruments of the World (MMIW) was established with the aim of preserving traditional music instruments from around the world.
As of 2013, it had over 2000 instruments from 115 countries and has two more branches in Paju and Busan. Countries included in the collection include ethnic music instruments from Asia, Europe, America, Africa, Oceania and Middle East. The collection also includes various artefacts such as ceramics, masks, costumes, amulets, music and anthropology related stamps, audio materials, and books.
