Bio

Formerly known as Italian Jazz Festival, Musica Festival is an event in Harare, Zimbabwe that focuses onjazz and emerging artists. It was rebranded to include a broader range of world music. It is an annual, non-profit making music event that strives to spearhead cultural exchange programmes that are designed to facilitate stronger relations between Italy and Zimbabwe. It aims to promote freedom of creative expression and cultural diversity through facilitating artistic interaction and the cross fertilization of creative ideas. It also aims to create new platforms for artistic collaborations and related opportunities.

Musica Festival showcases the very best of local, regional and international arts and culture through innovative styles. Local artists who regularly perform at the festival include Oliver Mtukudzi, Patience Musa, Dudu Manhenga and Alexio Kawara among others. It also invites musicians from Italy to perform at the event, such as Amanda e la Banda, Puglia Jazz Factory and Enzo Favata, as well as Feindrehstar from Germany.
