Outcry

Outcry is Swaziland a Christian rock music ensemble that was established in October 2008. The group started off as an idea to change a generation by a group of young people passionate for music. Members include Ryan Mandy (lead vocals and electric guitar), Maswazi Kalelemba (drums and vocals), Chelsea Mandy (vocals and synth), Velicia Malinga (acoustic guitar) and Shannon Mandy (bass guitarist and lyricist). The band incorporates genres such as rock, hip-hop, soul, ballads and contemporary rock.

They draw their influences and perform music by Hillsong, Hillsong United, Casting Crowns, Chris Thomlin, Delirious and others.

The music outfit is part of a local church and use itsr music to minister to both Christian and non-Christian audiences. Members of the band grew up together and are practically a family. They write and play music as an expression and extension of their beliefs. Their aim is to play music that brings God’s glory and impacts lives.

All the songs from their first album ‘Words For You’ released in July 2009, were written, arranged and performed by the band. Their second album ‘New Generation’ was released in Swaziland in April 2012. Their first music video featuring Swazi hip-hop artist V was released in August 2011.
