Q Malewezi

Qabaniso Malewezi, porpularly known as Q was born in 1979. He grew up in Lilongwe and developed a passion for the arts at a tender age. He is a music producer and songwriter.At nine, he would take his father's guitar and learn how to play. At 11, he began performing and at 13 he began recording music. He relocated to the UK and attended Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) where he studied performing arts. He also studied at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey.

As a producer, he is credited for the Abstrak Beats. He has done music production for artists such as Peter Sambo, Khethi and the Real Elements.

Despite music, he is also a poet and has published two poetry anthologies. He is an active member of the Living Room Poetry Club in Lilongwe.
