Rush Records

Bio

Rush Records is hip-hop record label from Malawi. It was founded in 2004 by Pempho Kafoteka and Kenneth Gondwe. The two came up with the idea of forming a record label while studying in the UK.

In December 2004, Kafoteka returned home to establish Rush Records. He teamed up with Kenny Klips. Klips was in the UK with Jinx and Rissah. The label managed to release Klip's album 'Image Effect'. It was the first album to be released under Rush Records. In 2005, Jinx released his solo project called 'Untitled'. The label introduced Young Kay in the music industry and helped to market his single 'I'm Home'.
