Sam Okposo

Bio

Born in the late Sixties, to an Isoko family in Delta State, Nigeria. He started his musical career while still a student of the Delta State University. Upon graduation, he moved to Lagos, performing as a session musician. In particular, he joined a popular Lagos Combo- the KK Band, as a Keyboardist.

After leaving the K.K.Band, he formed a band Treasure in 1992, with a number of other gifted musicians such as Hope Isesele and Jonathan Lewis. Treasure became the toast of the Lagos live Music scene, performing at Clubs, Concerts and Studio sessions. In 1996, after becoming a born-again Christian, he joined the Music department of the House on the Rock Church, rising to the post of Music Director. He first hit the limelight, with his composition of the soundtrack to popular Nollywood Movie "Onome".

He released his critically acclaimed album "Wellu wellu" and a series of other albums, which gained massive global appeal in the Nigerian and African disapora. He can today be regarded as one of the most respected Gospel musicians in Africa with a multiple haul of Awards across the globe to his credit. His strongest points being his powerful and soulful vocals and virtuoso Keyboard skills.
