Waldorf School Windhoek

Bio

Waldorf School Windhoek is a Namibian learning institution popularly known for its extraordinary art project called Hit the Beat. The project includes dance, drums, choir, theatre and art. The choreographies, percussion and the acting moderation are developed together with the learners as well as numerous supplementary instruments. The aim of the project is to bring together young people and adults of all cultures, worldwide.

The team behind the learners consists of Simone de Picciotto (project leader, choir project, drumming workshop, stick fighting and brooms workshop); Carmen Nothando Voigt (dance and choreography), Luigi Scarano (theatre and improvisation), Caro Krebietke (visual art), Rainer Pinsenschaum (black light theatre), Barbara Stauffer (choir) and Teachers of Waldorf School Windhoek. Gonzo and Friends from Germany offered a special coaching for enthusiastic singers or musicians (drums, keyboard) during the third week of the project.
