After many weeks spent touring Kenya as well as Southern Africa for their acclaimed Live and Die in Afrika Tour, Kenyan pop band Sauti Sol will continue with the promotion of their third album by staging gigs in other parts of East Africa as well as in the United Kingdom.
The tour kicks off on Saturday 30 July at the Ustawi Jamii Grounds in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The band will then move on to performances in Arusha, Kampala and Kigali before flying to London for a gig on 26 August and returning to Africa for a show in Juba, South Sudan on 17 September.
The full schedule of Sauti Sol's upcoming performances is as follows:
- 30 July: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
- 6 August: Arusha, Tanzania
- 13 August: Kampala, Uganda
- 20 August: Kigali, Rwanda
- 26 August: London, UK
- 17 September: Juba, South Sudan
The Live and Die in Afrika tour is Sauti Sol's first self-produced concert series, offering live performances of all 15 tracks from the Live and Die in Afrika album, among many of the group's other hits. The concert tour is a major feat in Kenya's music industry and arguably a first by any Kenyan music group. According to Sauti Sol's management, the band has spent more than KES 63 million (about $620 870) and toured with a production crew of about 100 people.
In terms of new music, the band is continually working with other African acts. Recently, the band collaborated with Nigeria's Yemi Alade on a new single 'Africa', a praise song for the African continent that touches on her unique beauty and culture. The video for the single was shot in Kenya, Nigeria, the UK and USA.
