Nonini to the rescue of Tanzanian albinos
After a successful campaign in Kenya that sought to collect and distribute sunscreen lotion to people living with albinism, self-styled Genge Godfather, Nonini, now has his eyes set across the border in Tanzania, where increasing cases of attacks on albinos by people seeking their body parts for use in sorcery has seen the country’s President personally intervene.
Through his initiative, ColourkwaFace, Nonini will be campaigning in Tanzania later this year. He says the campaign will be even bigger than the one in Kenya, although details of the participants are yet to emerge. Last year’s campaign was graced by many prominent people, among them Malian star Salif Keita, who lives with albinism himself.
