Ras Askia releases ‘Growing Up’
Ras Askia, a Gambian dancehall singer based in Austria, has released new single ‘Growing Up.’ The beat was created by B-Wise. 'Growing Up' was recorded and mixed by Hardcore Production, an outfit for which Askia is CEO.
Askia, who doubles as producer at Hardcore Production, told The Voice Vibes that the song is about people coming from the poor side of life and working as hard as possible to make it in real life. The song captures a truth about growing in less than wealthy circumstances.
"I was highlighting the different struggles and ways it gets done by many and to let the world know that the struggle never ends until we can make ends meet," he explained.
He added that the song will be part of his debut album The Tears which is to be released and launched early 2016. The Tears stands to be seen as the encapsulation of his singing and production talents. Before now Askia has spoken about a need to "carve out his unique sound" adding that he "wants to leave a musical legacy behind and create music that is fresh, unique and inspiring." Fans will be hoping Askia succeeds.
Some of the promotional singles are 'Wine and Bad like We', 'Never sell my Soul', 'Many of Times' featuring Darka, 'Gallingo' and 'My Mission' featuring T. Smallz.
