Stonebwoy to headline Ghana Independence concert in Norway
Ghanaian dancehall man Stonebwoy will headline his country’s Independence celebration in Oslo, Norway on 11 March.
The event will mark 60 years since Ghana came out of British rule, and as such will feature cultural aspects of Ghanaian life in the European city.
Event planners and artists are already setting up plans to honour the date with performances around the world. The artist Mr Eazi, for instance, will be performing in the US to mark the Ghanaian Independence. Besides headliner Stonebwoy, such artists like Wisa Greid , Bright, PG, and KG, are also expected to perform in Norway.
Stonebwoy, whose 2017 song 'Enku Lenu' has received siignificant airplay, has been involved in some adverse news regarding a split with his frequent collaborator BeatzDakay. The producer accused the ‘Go Higher’ singer of vandalising his studio after a disagreement. Responding to some of the issues raised by the producer, Stonebwoy said, “I do not have any issues with my brother Beatzdakay. We have been at this for a while putting in the best of each other’s efforts and I trust that Ghana and the world admire this bond between producer and artiste…”
He added, “I’m sorry to say it’s rather sad to have it go this way which is quite disappointing but this is what we face. I wish my brother well in all aspects.”
The Independence concert in Norway, which is organised by Ghana Union Norway, will have in attendance the Ghanaian Ambassador to Denmark.
