GreedySouth is Zimbabwe based media platform for youth culture which documents mainstream, emerging, and progressive musicians, artists, writers, filmmakers, fashion designers, videographers, cultural curators and thought leaders. GreedySouth has been active online since 2010. It was founded by Godwin Mungwadzi. “I created the platform to bridge the gap between local youth culture news and mainstream media coverage. GreedySouth then grew to also cover the Zimbabwean diaspora youth culture news.” He explains. “This is why our motto is Global content in a local context.”
GreedySouth strives to become the premier source of information and inspiration whilst connecting Zimbabwean enthusiasts, tastemakers, influencers and trendsetters around the world through enthralling content. “Most of the content we publish is not available anywhere else unless it was cited from Greedysouth. This makes us the premier source of information within our niche.
GreedySouth is run by a team based in different parts of the continent that is very passionate about the Zimbabwe youth culture and driven by an urge to empower emerging and progressive creatives in the Zimbabwean realm. The platform has been sourced by sites, publications and media houses such as OkayAfrica, CheckoutAfrica, Wikipedia, Pindula, Nehanda Radio, Zimbo Jam, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, Afripop Mag, NewsDay, Techzim, Sunday Mail, Zimbabwe Independent and many more. “Our Audience is from across the world but mostly in Zimbabwe and South Africa.”
GreedySouth has reached millions of people in the years of operations and the team has vast knowledge and expertise in digital media.
GreedySouth offers PR, Marketing and promotion services for artistes. “We are in the process of monetizing the platform so we can collaborate with brands and individuals working within the music and entertainment industry through advertising, sponsored content and PR campaigns.”
