Zim’s Cindy drops new music video
Zimbabwe’s award-winning RnB musician Cindy Munyavi released a video for her song ‘Dai’ on Thursday, 28 July.
Cindy announced the news on Facebook: “Hey lovelies. I am uploading my video to my single titled Dai. Thank you for showing me love and support.” The video has generally received positive feedback. “I love the song,so wonderfully made and still got the Zimbo feeling. And clean video production,” commented one fan.
'Dai' is taken off Cindy's forthcoming album MVC which is set for release later this year. It was co-produced by Malawian producer Manje and Elton Bryce, who heads the independent record label Bryce Nation in Zimbabwe.The song explores Cindy’s love interests, following a girl who is in love with her long-time admirer.
Signed to Bryce Nation, Cindy has released a number of videos in the past few years, including ‘Parere Moyo’, ‘Nerudo’, Kutsvaga mari’ and ‘Wonder Y’ featuring Pauline.
Some of Cindy’s popular old tracks will feature on the new album, including ‘Parere Moyo’, which won her an All Africa Music Award (AFRIMA) in Decemeber 2014 and ‘Kutsvaga Mari’ which earned her another AFRIMA nomination in November 2015.
A talented and versatile artist, Cindy has received numerous nominations for awards such as the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA), the National Art Merit Awards (NAMA), the Zim Dancehall Awards and the Zim Hip-Hop Awards. She has also received accolades at the Victors Awards, Woman’s World Heritage Society Awards and Zimbabwe Business Council Awards.
