Call for applications: Art Moves Africa mobility grants

Through support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AMA supports applicants who want to travel within Africa. Grantees receive a round-trip air ticket booked, paid for and issued by AMA. AMA does not cover the cost of visas, travel insurance, per diems or artist fees.

Two deadlines are planned for travels taking place before January 2019:

1. The deadline for travels taking place between 15 October 2018 and 31 January 2019 is 8 September 2018. Successful candidates will be notified on 1 October 2018.
2. The deadline for travels taking place between 15 November 2018 and 31 January 2019 is 8 October 2018. Candidates will be notified on 1 November 2018.

More deadlines will be announced if AMA secures further funding.

Applicants should carefully read the AMA guidelines before submitting their applications to applications@artmovesafrica.org.

AMA supports the travel of artists and cultural professionals working in the following artistic fields:

• Music
• Theatre
• Dance
• Storytelling
• Visual arts
• Film
• Literature
• Multidisciplinary

AMA will support artists who participate in the following types of projects and events:

• Meetings, conferences, lectures and symposiums
• Workshops and masterclasses
• Residencies
• Research trips
• Creation or production of new works
• Performances and tours (small-scale)
• Exhibitions
• Festivals, biennales and art fairs

Application emails should include the following attachments:

• Completed application form (in word or PDF format).
• CV (in word or PDF format).
• Invitation letter (if available).

Restrictions

Applications will be automatically rejected if they fall into any of the following categories:

• Sent after the deadline.
• Collective applications (i.e. more than one individual in the application).
• Incomplete, hand-written or scanned.
• Application and motivation letter sent as separate attached files.
