Born on 7 July in Ndola, Zambia, MayJa (real name Maxwell Moono) is a gospel artist and producer whose love for music was prompted through listening to hip-hop music. He listened to hip-hop acts such as Kanye West, Paul Wall, Lil Jon and R. Kelly. He grew up in a christian set up home. Throughout his elementary school, he spent much of his time mastering poems and petitions to present during church services. ' Bana Ba Mulungu' is among his best songs that earned him a name in the country's music scenery. He is also a DJ and radio personality.
