Experienced Event Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment industry. Skilled in Production Management, Artist Management, Event Management, Team Development, Publicity and Live Events. Strong professional graduated from Henley Business School. Skilled in event production and promotion her career is marked by self-discipline, service and an open-minded pursuit of self-education. Her tenure at Bula Music/T.Musicman found Pula thrown into the deep end of production, artist management, public relations and event management. In the vibrant kwaito scene of the 90’s these various skills could be found exercised with the likes of Boom Shaka, DJ's At work, Lundi Tyamara, Ihashi Elimhlophe and Lebo Mathosa. Forged in a 3 year apprenticeship of fire, Pula emerged from T. Musicman to elevate her skills with Hugh Masekela’s Chissa Entertainment. Enhancing her already formidable skill set Pula found herself adding record promotion, artist agency and team management to her quiver. Her roster included the likes of Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Busi Mhlongo, Zwai Bala, Corlea Botha, Jabu Khanyile and Tsepo Tshola.
In 2008, after 6 years at Chissa Entertainment, Pula would find herself working as Operations Manager at the Construction Department at Host Broadcast Services of the International Broadcast Centre for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Tasked with delivering creativity on the construction team of the International Broadcast Centre, at the NASREC Centre, for international journalists and broadcasters, which included a week's training program, in Vienna, Austria. Pula’s tenure as Operations Manager triumphantly delivered an International Broadcast Centre to over 100 television and radio channels broadcasting one of the most successful FIFA World Cups to the globe.
She established SEMOPA Entertainment in 2004 with Hugh Masekela - An Artists and Events Agency.
With extensive production and management experience SEMOPA Entertainment takes their clients from concept to implementation of promotions, exhibitions, conferences, and music events, aided and abetted by our many and varied industry relationships with artists, promoters, venues, technical and production personnel.
Pula has worked various events such as the Standard Bank Joy Of Jazz, The Hugh Masekela Heritage Festival, 30 Years of the Market Theatre Celebration, Songs Of Migration, Africa Fashion Week, Joyous Celebration as well as, freelance jobs in public relations and promotion. She continues to forge ahead and energize Team SEMOPA with her dedication and persistence and is also a board member of the Hugh Masekela Heritage Foundation.
