Ghana: Fameye inks deal with biscuit company
Ghanaian highlife singer Fameye has been unveiled as a brand ambassador for McBerry Biscuits, a subsidiary of confectionery giant Twellium Industrial Company. The deal was made public on 14 June.
Details of the deal are yet to be disclosed. However, as the new face of McBerry, the ‘Praise’ singer’s primary role will be to leverage his multi-demographic popularity in Ghana to increase awareness of the brand locally.
“We are proud to announce Fameye as the new brand ambassador for McBerry Biscuit London,” McBerry said, adding that the company “looks forward to a future of sharing the secret to good health” with consumers.
“Staying healthy and strong is the foundation of our future,” Fameye said. “I believe with McBerry Biscuits our posterity will be. I am excited to be part of this family.”
Fameye’s joins other Ghanaian celebrities who have become brand ambassadors for various companies in Ghana recently, including dancehall singer Stonebwoy, rapper Kofi Kinaata and footballer Asamoah Gyan.
Born Peter Famiyeh Bozah, Fameye is best known for local hits like ‘Nothing I Get’, ‘Destiny’ and ‘Mati’, as well as his Greater Than album. He was a participant of the MTN Hitmaker Season 4 music competition and last year’s recipient of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for Best New Artist. Also in 2020, Fameye was named Artist of the Year at the Western Music Awards.
