Music In Africa Live 2022 broadcast schedule announced
The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is excited to announce the broadcast schedule of showcases produced by the 2021 Music In Africa Live (MIAL) grantees. The broadcasts will launch on Thursday 31 March 2022.
Designed as an initiative to support the African music industry at large to navigate the challenges introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic, MIAL offered financial support to creators to enable them to produce high-quality shows, educational content and advocacy projects. In the broadcast phase, the MIAF will promote, market and showcase their content to a wider global audience – via digital means.
The MIAL broadcasts will run on Thursdays and Fridays at 6pm CAT on the Music In Africa Facebook page starting from 31 March. This will be the second phase of streams presented by the MIAF after it introduced the MIAL project in 2020.
The wide-ranging programme of events will transport viewers to all corners of the continent, giving them the opportunity to experience the talent of both seasoned and rising African musicians.
A total of 22 recipients were awarded showcase grants in 2021, selected by a MIAL jury of knowledgeable music professionals who also picked 13 organisations to produce capacity-building content and music advocacy activities for online audiences. This content will be accessible on the MIAF platforms in due course.
