Call for submissions: Central Music Awards 2022 in Ghana

Now in its 11th year, the scheme, which is organised by Heritage Event Promotions, seeks to spotlight and celebrate outstanding musicians and musical feats in the country’s Central Region. 

The CMAs also aim to create an atmosphere for facilitating quality music to meet a competitive national and global standard. 

This year, awards will be presented across 36 categories, including the newly-introduced Best Masquerade Group, Best Brass Band, Songwriter of the Year and Live Band of the Year.

Musicians, their representatives and other stakeholders in good standing, who have released works between August 2021 to August 2022, are eligible for nominations.

After filling out the form, applicants may submit a hard copy to any of the scheme’s district reps. Alternatively, they can submit it at a precursor seminar to the awards in September.

The deadline for submissions is 10 September.

The CMAs recently unveiled a 16-member academy to oversee this year’s awards.
