Zim: ASAPH shares Big Mhofu EP
Zimbabwean rapper ASAPH is back with a new EP titled Big Mhofu after dropping his first Def Jam release single ‘Thebelele’ featuring Loki.
The seven-track EP is available for streaming and download(link is external) on all major digital platforms.
Known for his kwaito-infused rap, ASAPH has termed the new project a journey of personal reflection.
“I'm so proud of this body of work and really excited to share it with you,” ASAPH said ahead of the EP’s release. “My fears, my flex, my brokenness, my boss talk, my mind, my heart. I did what I could to stuff it all into seven songs so you may be inspired, motivated, or just enjoy.”
The 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards Listeners Choice nominee has turned to the vocal prowess of fellow Zimbabwean artist Bhekiwe who has been featured on three tracks – ‘Learn To Live’, ‘First Day’ and ‘Nothing To Lose’ – to liven up the album.
Interestingly for a rap EP, Holy Alpha is the only hip hop artist making an appearance.
