SA: Hey Neighbour Festival announces more artists
The organisers of Hey Neighbour Festival have announced an additional line-up of artists who will share the stage with American acts H.E.R. and Kendrick Lamar at Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria, South Africa, from 8 to 10 December 2023.
The new additions are Duckwrth (US), James Vickery (UK), JZyNO (Liberia), Uncle Waffles (eSwatini) and South African artists DBN Gogo, Scorpion Kings, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Musa Keys, Focalistic, Mi Casa, Shekhinah, Francois van Coke, Anatii, Nasty C, GoodLuck, Tyla and Shimza.
Other acts include Khalid (US), The Chainsmokers (US) and Swedish House Mafia (Sweden).
“Don’t even think we’re done yet,” the organisers said. “Brace yourselves for the phase three bombshells with more African brilliance and perhaps a sprinkle of international stardust.”
Duckwrth began releasing his own songs online and expanded his audience when he collaborated with The Kickdrums in 2015. He released his debut album I’m Uugly in 2016, and his first Republic Records project An XTRA UUGLY Mixtape in 2017.
His song ‘Start a Riot’ was featured on the 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film, while ‘MICHUUL’ was featured on the HBO series Insecure and CW series All American. He released The Falling Man EP in 2019 and his first album SuperGood with Republic Records in 2020.
