SA: Blxckie featured on Apple Music’s Rap Life Africa
Apple Music has announced South African rapper Blxckie as the latest artist for December’s Rap Life Africa.
The episode features new music from Blxckie, all the breaking hip hop news and the hottest tracks of the week from around Africa. Rap Life Africa serves as a companion to Apple Music’s flagship hip hop playlist.
Presented by Apple Music hip hop and R&B head global editorial Ebro Darden and hosted by Nandi Madida, the show sees the pair chatting with Blxckie about his latest single ‘Back Into It’, which is available to stream on Apple Music. Alongside Blxckie’s music, Rap Life also includes Nasty C’s ‘Fuck That’ featuring Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck as well as Saudi’s ‘Nkalakatha’ featuring Emtee.
Apple Music said that Blxckie has continually displayed a remarkable work ethic which can be heard on countless hit singles and culture-shifting collaborations that have seen him extend his reach to broader audiences, and resulting in his recent signing with renowned hip hop label Def Jam.
“‘Back Into It’ is my first drop with Def Jam, and getting on the cover of Rap Life with this song is dope,” Blxckie told Apple Music. “It’s a great time to be an African artist right now, and to see our music take on global stages. This song is one of many international releases fans can expect from me. A big shout out to everyone who continues to show me and my music love. This one’s for you, enjoy.”
Recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, and produced by Isaiah Kaleo, Lodoni and Mathiastyner, Blxckie flexes his flow on ‘Back Into It’, a song that is defined by its high-paced verses and elevated chorus that packs a punch.
