Viewers interested in the inner workings of the African music industry can now watch a selection of videos from the 2023 African music conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The music industry gathering brought together about 1 200 delegates from over 40 countries who attended conference sessions comprising keynotes, panel discussions, film screenings, workshops, exhibitions and presentations by about 70 speakers and facilitators.
ACCES champions learning and knowledge exchange opportunities for its attendees, and in Dar es Salaam hundreds of young music professionals attended workshops and masterclasses to learn the ins and outs of the local and international music industries from respected music executives.
Top speakers at the conference included Sipho Dlamini (gamma./UAE), Sonia Boton-Gboh (Roxanne/France), Sho Madjozi (artist/South Africa), Ezegozie Eze, Jr (EMPIRE/Nigeria), Victoria Nkong (All Africa Music Awards/Nigeria), Julz Ossom (African Music Week/Canada), Siya ‘Slikour’ Metane (SlikourOnLife/South Africa) and Rowlin Naicker (Sony Music Publishing/South Africa), among many others, who shared with the audience useful tips and strategies on how to navigate the complex music industry.
Topics up for discussion ranged from intellectual property to artificial intelligence, artist management, artist branding, music entrepreneurship, music distribution, collaborations and digital music strategies.
