Nigeria: Mo'Jeezy drops new single Chiannah
Emerging Nigerian artist Mo'Jeezy today released his new single ‘Chiannah’. The record is available for streaming and download on all major streaming platforms.
An Afrobeats piece produced by Ghadman and boasting deep bass kicks and entrancing keys, ‘Chiannah’ draws from 2010s Afro-R&B, exploring modern love and longing while offering a tribute to those navigating connections in the digital age.
For Mo'Jeezy, the song embodies not merely a musical progression, but a profound personal metamorphosis. It serves as a gateway to fresh artistic exploration and self-realisation.
“This song is inspired by my friend’s love story about how he found love online with a girl on Instagram from separate continents and how it grew into marriage,” he said. “This is my friend professing love and marriage to Chimmy as he calls her his Rihanna, hence the name ‘Chiannah’.”
Mo'Jeezy, born Joshua Ehizibue, boasts over 90 000 streams across various digital service platforms and names artists such as Mr Eazi, Burna Boy and Nonso Amadi among his technical models. According to him, his artistic vision and musical portfolio resonate both locally and globally.
“Mo'Jeezy’s journey reflects not only his distinctive sound but also his unwavering commitment to his craft and his desire to impact the world through his music and philosophy,” a statement says.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Mo'Jeezy made his foray into Web3 technology in 2021, making history as the first Nigerian artist to sell music as NFTs. He is the founder and CEO of Streamlivr.com, a Web3 live-streaming platform empowering creatives to transform their livestreams into NFTs to earn from their work.
