SA: Fête de la Musique unveils 2024 line-up
The French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), with the support of Total Energies Marketing South Africa, has announced the artists who will perform at the 13th edition of Fête de la Musique at Victoria Yards in Johannesburg on 22 June.
The line-up features Androgenius, DJ Napi Tapi, Flex of He & I, GHXST Bunny, i-SO, Jae Nuune, Just 6, Lady Choc, Laliboi, Rorisang Sechele, Sun Xa Experiment and Xhanti Nokwali.
The event is co-produced by Bassline and the artists were selected from a pool of exceptional musicians through an open call. The selected artists will get the opportunity to participate in a tailored workshop led by industry professionals to meet their specific needs. The workshop aims to foster a sustainable and meaningful experience of knowledge-sharing and networking.
“Year after year, we are impressed by the breadth of talent showcased in the applications,” IFAS deputy director Sophie Boulé said. “Our line-up reflects the vibrancy and diversity of South Africa’s musical landscape, promising an unforgettable celebration of local talent.”
Since its inception in 2010, IFAS has provided a vital platform for emerging talents to shine on the South African stage, with Fête de la Musique becoming a cornerstone event for locals of all ages, fostering connections with Johannesburg’s ever-evolving music scene.
Originating in France, Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, has evolved into a global phenomenon celebrated across 700 cities in 120 countries for over four decades. With its eclectic line-up spanning diverse genres and styles, Fête de la Musique is known for its immersive musical experience that resonates with audiences of all tastes and backgrounds.
