Melodi Music Trust

The Melodi Music Trust has been founded to reach out to those previously disadvantaged children of South Africa, by giving them the opportunity to read, write and play music. It offers an opportunity for South African youth to grow through music. The word 'Melodi' is SeTswana for 'whistling'. From a young age, we learn to make this sound - one of our first attempts at music and for some the only way they will be able to express themselves musically.

Currently, one Soweto-based project is in operation. It strives to give over 30 children the chance to grow musically by providing the instruments, music and professional tutors to enable the best tuition possible.
