Uganda: Voting opens for DJ awards

The public can vote for their favourite DJs via the awards' official website until 22 March.

Public voting constitutes 30% of all votes cast, while 70% will come from a seven-member committee consisting of various stakeholders in the music industry. All the winners will receive 1 million Ugandan shillings ($270) while the nominees will be awarded with a certificate. 

The objective of the awards is to celebrate Uganda’s DJ industry and reward outstanding talent and services.

“The awards theme this year takes you back to the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s, paying homage to the sound that gave birth to the DJ and clubbing,” the organisers said.
