Afro Habesha Band

Afro Habesha is an 8-piece band performing Ethiopian traditional and contemporary music and dance (10 piece with dancers). It is soulful, vibrant, visually and aurally beautiful.

Vocalist Seble Girma fronts a combination of some of Melbourne’s finest instrumentalists, including the cream of Ethiopian-Australian artists. Traditional Ethiopian instruments feature alongside a blistering horn section and modern rhythm section that ‘rocks’, giving voice to the rhythmically infectious grooves unique to Ethiopian music and culture.
