Marlaw

Born Lawrence Marima Madole, Marlaw is a Tanzanian musician who has been nominated for several awards, with popular singles such as 'Bembeleza''Rita' 'Pii Pii Mising My Baby'.

Born in 1984, Marlaw used to sing in church. At the beginning of his secondary education he started writing his own songs. He did this always at school and perform to his friends and sometimes the entire school. In early 2004 he joined Coca Cola Popstars competition in East Africa. It was held in three countrys; Kenya Tanzania and Uganda. But Marlaw didn't make it.

"The judges told me not to give up on music and for them I was one among the best. It stayed in my mind and gave courage to my music everyday," Marlaw says of the competition.

Immediately after high school he released his first song called Bembeleza at the end of February 2007. The song was very popular in East Africa and Central South.

"It was really a good start for my music journey."
