Bio
Brian Mugenyi is an accomplished Musician, Composer, Singer/song writer who is best described as "The 21st century African saxophone giant". He played his first instrument (piano) at the age of 8.For his tertiary education he dedicated five years to perfecting his lifetime passion and talent in music studying at Africa Institute of Music, where he trained through a series of music related course units majoring in Classical piano and minoring in Saxophone.
He has worked projects with numerous artists in their own rights such as Richard Bona(Senegal/USA), Kanjii Mbugua(NBO), Aaron Rimbui(NBO), Phil Denny(USA), Maurice Kirya(Ug), Swangs avenue records(Ug), Exodus(Ug), Jamal(Ug), MTV Africa awards nominees Radio and Weasle(Ug), Bebe Cool(Ug), Rucci(Ug), Alexio Kawara(Zimbabwe), among a list of many others. The 27 year old released his first album Take Time late 2013. It’s a six track collection of wonderful Gospel tunes redone in a relaxing style, with take time written by Brian.
He is set to release his new 15 track album late this year 2015, titled Dawn, where he has explored a variety of styles including; Electronic, House, Neo soul, Funk and Fusion. He has created a fresh sound in East African Pop music. This will be heard on his Gold medal; style he named electronic zuok, and Dawn; style he named Lingala jazz.
