Candis Angelene

Candis Angelene is an independent classical crossover soprano with a heavenly voice. Her angelic vocal style will fill you with beauty and wonder.

The soprano has had the honour of singing with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra under Michael Hankinson and the Electric Pops Orchestra under Mark Cheyne. Most recently, she performed songs from her album with the Symphony Choir of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra under Richard Cock.

In 2008, Candis represented South Africa in China, singing at the Nanning International Folk Song Festival, where she performed a traditional Mandarin song, as well as songs from Ancient Light on a small tour of the province. She also sang to a live stadium audience that was televised across Nanning.

Her debut CD (Ancient Light) reached No.4 on the Classic FM Top 20 Chart. The album contains original songs, with lyrics written by Candis and arrangements by Mark Cheyne.

Candis Angelene performs accompanied by piano, harp, string quartet and orchestra for live television broadcasts, album recordings and events.
