SURAJ

SURAJ is a renowned DJ and producer from Nairobi, Kenya. His productions fuse ethnic tribal elements with modern day electronic sounds. Being one of the most notable DJs in East Africa, SURAJ has performed at almost all the leading music events and venues in the country.

He grew up in Kisumu where he started out by playing classical tablas and drums. He later met a friend who convinced him to try production. His first original production ‘Wawere’ combines electronic music with lyrics in the luo language.

SURAJ has featured at many events, including the RedBull Music Academy's Club Night, Blankets & Wine – 55 – 58, Earthdance NBI With 6AM and KenyaNights.
