Bio

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, African Drum Museum is a well-known museum of traditional African instruments synonymous with group drumming and interactive team building. It is one of Southern Africa's leading entertainment agencies popular for displaying a wide range of traditional African instruments. Such instruments include African drums, Kudu horns, ancient marimbas, traditional flutes, shakers, bows, Zulu shields and spears. Also included in the display is an array of kalimbas, as well as masks and small percussion instruments. The museum also has a photographic exhibition of the different traditional tribes of Southern Africa.

The African Drum Museum also features an informative library of African including a book by Laurie Levine called, “Drum Cafe Traditional Music of South Africa”. The book captures the essence of the museum and its collection, including cultural information of the Xhosa and Sesotho cultures of South Africa.

The museum is open daily from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
