British Friends of the Zimbabwe Academy of Music (BZAM)

British Friends of the Zimbabwe Academy of Music (BZAM) is a UK-registered charity that raises money to upkeep the Zimbabwe Academy of Music (ZAM) in its work. The academy has for more than sixty years teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. This was made possible through funding it receives from BZAM.

Its facilities are a hub of music making, culture, education and creativity situated in the Bulawayo. The organization has worked hard to keep ZAM’s doors despite serious economic challenges that keep on affecting the country. In April 2015, BZAM supported ZAM during the construction of its new Marimba Centre in Bulawayo. It also assisted the academy to purchase a new set of marimbas as well as repairing an existing set.
