Courtney Antipas

Bio

Courtney Antipas is a Zimbabwean based MC who started rapping when he was was 13 years old. He released two mixtapes in his early twenties titled 'The Introduction', 'Jesus Raps' and two albums namely 'My Story' and 'The Redefinition'.

In 2009 he did a song called 'Blue Jeans' and also shot a video for it. This was followed by the release of a number of singles and an album called 'Legacy'. He became popular when he curtain raised for international artists such as Jamaican RnB reggae fusion musical duo Brick & Lace and Jamaican-American pop artist Sean Kingston.

In October 2011, his grandmother passed away and this made him give his life to Jesus Christ. This saw him associating with christian hip -hop artists like Lecrae and the 116 clique. In December 2011, he opened for another U.S. gospel artist Kirk Franklin. He has also performed at Afro-Fest in 2012 Cape Town, South Africa and in Nairobi, Kenya in 2013. That same year in August he signed a partnership deal with South African based record label and events company Fresh Impressions. He has also toured parts of Africa with U.S. based Rapper Da' T.R.U.T.H and had peaked at number one with his song 'Shift' on the Zim Hip Hop Charts in Feb 2013, not forgetting his involvement as a cover artist for the HIFA 2013 opening show.

He had also been nominated two years in a row for the Best Gospel Hip-Hop Award 2012/2013 at the Annual Zim Hip Hop awards. He also released an album called 'Thoughts of a Prodigal Son' and a mixtape called 'Take1ne'. In 2015 he was nominated for two awards in South Africa for their annual Mzansi Gospel awards.
