Culture Spears

Bio

Culture Spears is a traditional music outfit from Botswana. It is the brain child of Kabelo Mogwe who pitched the idea to his childhood-turned-estranged-friend Thembeni Ramosetheng. Thembeni was initially skeptical citing lack of money as the reason but later agreed to join the group. They were later joined by a female artist Magdeline Lesolebe (best known as Mogwe), Jelinah Mokgwatlheng and Lydia Oile. They formed a group and began doing rehearsals. Thembeni and Jelina later left the group to focus on solo projects.

They went into the studio and recorded their maiden album titled ‘Korone’. The project features songs such like ‘Selonyana’, ‘Mmadikokwana’, ‘Phala’ and ‘Serudi sa Pula’. Some of their albums include ‘Khudu’ and ‘Kulanche’.
