Happy Mhlongo known professionally as HapiVaal, is a South African rapper and songwriter. Born in Daveyton, Gauteng, a township also known as "Vutta" In 2002, at the age of 12 During the time while he was in primary school, Hapivaal entered a poetry competition where he participated in public speaking that’s where his love of music started.

Hapivaal started rapping in 2010; his career took off when he recorded his first song with Pollack and M. Tech who also produced and worked with Harrison Crump. A lot of people reacted positively to his song. He got a manager who introduced him to Drenko whom he did songs with. Hapivaal got gigs and he got to share a stage with the likes of MICasa, Pitch black afro, Dj Shimza, Dj Oskido, NastyC, Zola, and Khuli Chana. In 2011 he was part of the group named Hapivaal and Maffa whereby they focused on Maskandi and Hip pop which became popular as it was in demand. They released an E.P. called ‘Iyahlome’ which sold 300 copies.

He then started tours with blood donation SA, Yfm & East Rand colleges, CAN DO, and many others. Hapivaal also performed with the likes of Robby Malinga, Musa, kwesta, Kid X, and many others. He is an MC and he also appeared in the PEPSI & Huntersdry advert. He has done two international beer adverts. Hapivaal is not only an artist but an entrepreneur and events organizer also. Lastly, he has done a lot of interviews with different radio stations such as Ek FM, hill brow FM, SAUMU HD Radio, and ALEX FM
