Kaylin Ndhlovu

Bio

Kaylin Ndhlovu is a professional violinist and music educator with nine years of experience in both.

She specialises in playing music that is accessible to the general community and is responsible for setting learners up with a solid technical foundation, while exploring their freedom in genre.

Kaylin is a powerful force on stage and uses her soulful expression to enlighten the audience’s musical palate with a fresh take on playing a classical instrument. At the age of 10, Kaylin joined the Ronnie Samaai Music Education Project (RSMEP), playing the violin and taking lessons in theory. She received tuition from Ronnie Samaai, resulting in a 6 month scholarship at the Barratt-Due Music Institute in Oslo, Norway at the age of 16.

Kaylin obtained a BMus degree at the University of Stellenbosch under Suzanne Martens, specialising in performance. After 3 years of teaching at Zwaanswyk Academy, Kaylin is now appointed as a part-time teacher at the Hugo Lambrecht’s Music Center and volunteers at her “musical home”, RSMEP.
