Based in Cape Town, South Africa, LaSoul is a singer, songwriter, video director and music producer who owns a Cape Town based music production company called Soulful Records. His productions and music is a fusion of RnB, kwaito, house, gospel and hip-hop.
In 2013, his song featured in an animation movie entitled 'Khumba'. The song featured Zwai Bala. Additionally, his production company Soulful Records produced the soundtrack for a movie called 'Don’t Touch'. The movie was shown in 2006 at the Apollo festival in Durban. His instrumental compositions have been used on local TV shows such as Rhythm City and eKasi love stories.
In 2014, an album production which he did for Adipeace won the Best Sound and Dance award in Congo. He did another production for Rhayi Zandisile named 'Nguwe Lona'. He also landed Rhayi the Best Dance song award in the Queenstown Awards. A number of his productions have been on the top position of the Top 10 charts that are hosted by many local radio stations.
To date, he has produced music for over 400 different artists from countries such as South Africa, Congo, Burundi, Angola, Botswana and many others. Many artists have been nominated and won awards courtesy of his productions. Chris D of Burundi who won an Akeza award and was nominated for a 2012 Kora award.
Apart from producing music, he also composes music for Tv programs, ads and sound tracks for movies. He also released an Ep with The Rain.
