Leza Awards

Leza Awards is an expanded awards scheme that seeks to recognise achievers in the performing arts, giving their careers a welcome push. Started in 2011 as a Listener's choice awards for musicians, actors, actresses and producers by Sheger102.1 FM Radio Station the event has evolved over the years to became an award gala where the best of Ethiopia's performing artists are recognized.

"We tried to inspire musicians, actors, actresses and producers ,” says Berhanu Degafe, producer of the event, who came up with the idea in 2011. In 2015 the awards will recognize the work of performing artists in nine different categories.
