MasZangas

MasZangas is a trio from Namibia whose music is a fusion of Afro-pop and traditional music. It comprises of Hasho Kazanga MasZanga, Key Kakala MasZanga and Pedro Zanga MasZanga.

In 2013, MasZangas was nominated nine times at the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMA) but withdrew their nominations owing to their refusal to agree on terms with Triple Seven Studios. The record studio wanted to seize not less than 70% of the group’s prize if they won any category. The threesome also had a conflict with their producer, Arafat Muhuure. The split was prompted by Muhuure reportedly demanding 100% of the group’s revenue obtained from their live performances, CD sales and sponsorships.
