Miyagi Cloudy

Miyagi Cloudy (born Siyabonga Mathladisa) is a South African musician based in Johannesburg. His music career kicked-off in 2010 where he was a part of a hip hop crew called Rocking Js, a crew which did music and performed it in the local and surrounding areas. In 2013 the rap crew split and Miyagi Cloudy and one of the crew members Driemel formed a duo called DreamCloud and did music together and continued performing both at school in high school, local events and in surrounding areas. In 2016/17 DreamCloud was part of the anti-drug campaign which was sponsored by Joburg Theatre, Soweto Theatre and a famous TV in South Africa,soapie 7de Laan.

In 2018 Miyagi Cloudy made a decision to pursue his solo career. In 2019 he released his maiden solo project, a three song EP by the name My Shine. The EP was followed by two singles in 2020.

In 2022 he pursued the other side of artistry in the form of modelling and he worked with CLINTH magazine in several shoots including a shoot for Caden McKenzie’s Masters Degree in Fashion and Arts. In the same year he released three EPs including The Experimental EP Vol.1 and Vol.2 which he fully produced, wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered by himself. He was a part of inter continental arts and recreation audition known as the OGA Campaign, the first phase of this campaign had almost 17 thousand participants from all corners of the African continent and only 500 were picked and he was a part of the 500. The second and final phase of these auditions was the part were the participants would try to get votes and make it to the Top 50 that would go to Kigali, Rwanda. He took to the streets and social media to gather as much votes in possible but at the end Miyagi Cloudy could unfortunately only manage to be number 51 falling short by a few votes.

In 2023 he has also made an appearance as collaborator on TKO’s album. The album addresses the life of youth in South Africa.
He is currently working on a few photography and musical projects this year and is hoping to release a few of those projects very soon.
